"The Great Shipping" was also a work I added to the exhibition "Holland" in Galerie Zuid (Harskamp). I had an image in my head of a trinity of patriotic frogs who were leaving for a mighty journey. The elements of shipping and exploring (Golden Age), froglandpeople, Orange, the flag of Holland, the wooden shoe, it's all in there. And I was almost in the water making the photo of the wooden shoe I wanted to paint, which floated off...
